We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Backend Architect to lead the design and development of mission-critical backend systems that support demanding, high-load environments.
Position Overview
As a Senior Python Backend Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing large-scale backend platforms capable of handling significant traffic, data processing, and business-critical workloads. You will play a key role in defining architectural standards, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect highly scalable backend systems using Python.
- Lead technical decisions regarding system architecture, performance, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain distributed services, APIs, and microservices.
- Optimize application performance, database efficiency, and system throughput.
- Implement best practices for security, monitoring, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
- Review code and provide technical mentorship to development teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive expertise in Python and backend architecture.
- Strong experience designing high-load, distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of system performance tuning, scalability, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluent English required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Background in fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, or other high-traffic platforms.
- Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native architectures.
- Previous experience leading engineering teams or architecture initiatives.
