Job Description:
The Numerical Control Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining NC programs for the manufacture of complex aerospace components, ensuring high quality and efficiency in production.
Responsibilities:**
- Develop and validate NC programs using CAD/CAM software for multi-axis machining centers.
- Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies.
- Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
- Perform simulations and verify NC programs to prevent collisions and ensure part accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and debug NC programs on the shop floor, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Optimize existing NC programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and surface finish.
- Document NC programming processes, tooling requirements, and operational procedures.
- Interface with SAP for material and production planning relevant to NC programming activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies in NC programming.
Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Numerical Control Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD for technical drawing interpretation and verification.
- Extensive experience with CAD CATIA, including CATIA V4/V5 and CATIA V6 for design and programming.
- Strong understanding of various machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Familiarity with SAP for production and materials management.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
