We are looking for an Operations Director for a company in the aerospace industry. Their primary objective is to optimize, scale, and ensure maximum efficiency across all of the company's logistical and daily operations. They must ensure the maximization of the utilization level of the company's assets. Further details will be provided during the interviews.
Key Responsibilities:
Resource Planning and Maximization: Optimize the daily scheduling of the company's asset fleet and the human team that operates it.
Experience with Maintenance Departments: Coordinate strategically with the Maintenance department to ensure maximum asset availability, balancing operational efficiency with technical inspection times. Introduction of new methodologies and maximization of operational capacity; minimization of the number and duration of downtime periods.
KPI Implementation: Design and monitor operational performance metrics (e.g., aircraft utilization rate, instructor/student ratio, downtime) to drive continuous improvement in processes.
Safety and Regulatory Support: Work side by side with the compliance department.
Profile Characteristics
Leading operations requires a highly analytical mind, oriented toward rapid problem-solving and with strong multicultural leadership skills.
Required Experience:
Track Record: Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in Operations Management roles (Operations Manager / COO).
Sector: Priority given to candidates coming from the aviation sector. Alternatively, candidates from highly complex logistics and heavily regulated sectors (transport, critical supply chains, manufacturing).
Technical Skills (Hard Skills):
Fleet Management and Optimization Software: Familiarity with flight planning software and enterprise resource management tools. Analytical optimization skills without the use of software will be highly valued during the implementation of the final software.
Financial Management: Ability to manage operational budgets and optimize costs without compromising safety.
Regulatory Knowledge: Would be a plus.
Interpersonal Skills (Soft Skills):
Decision-Making Under Pressure: Agility to reconfigure planning and make adjustments when necessary due to changes in the operating environment.
Integrative Leadership: Ability to align very different departments toward a common goal.
International Mindset: Adaptability and sensitivity to manage an international work environment.
Languages:
C1/C2 level of English, Spanish optional but desirable: Essential. English is the operational language; Spanish is key for local interaction but not mandatory.
