As a People Services Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering a consistent, high quality colleague and manager experience across the Iberia region (Spain & Portugal). The role provides expert people advisory support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, collective agreements, and Sage policies. You will contribute to a globally aligned yet regionally appropriate People Services offering, driving simplicity, standardisation, and continuous improvement.
This is a hybrid role 3 days a week for our Barcelona office.

What will you be doing?
You will provide expert, practical guidance to managers and colleagues across a broad range of employee relations and people processes, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary and grievance cases, redundancies, and flexible or hybrid working requests, ensuring alignment with Spanish and Portuguese labour law and Sage policies. Supporting absence management and wellbeing, you will partner with internal and external providers to enable appropriate adjustments and positive outcomes. You will monitor ER and absence trends, escalating risks and insights to key stakeholders to support early intervention. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will ensure consistent and compliant application of policies, manage complex cases, and support organisational change activity, including consultations and contractual updates. You will also maintain accurate case records within HR systems, produce high-quality documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Working collaboratively with People teams and Centres of Excellence, you will help deliver a seamless colleague experience while ensuring all data is handled in line with GDPR and local regulations.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in people advisory or employee relations, ideally within Spain and/or Portugal, and a strong working knowledge of Spanish employment legislation (Portuguese knowledge is a plus). You’ll be a confident communicator, able to clearly advise and influence managers, with fluency in both English and Spanish. Additional languages such as Portuguese, Catalan, French, or German would be highly advantageous. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable using case management systems such as ServiceNow or other HRIS platforms. Experience working within a regional or global People Services model is beneficial. A relevant HR or legal qualification—or progress towards one—such as a degree or postgraduate study in Law, Labour Relations, or HR, is preferred.
