ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a friendly and engaging Chef & Helper to help with immersive paella and churros cooking classes in Madrid. This freelance role is ideal for individuals who enjoy sharing food, culture, and fun experiences with groups of international visitors.
Each class accommodates up to 6-10 guests and lasts approximately 3 hours, taking place in a local restaurant. You will be present for the entire class, leading the cooking portion while actively involving guests to ensure an interactive, hands-on experience. You will also assist with class setup and cleaning afterward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide guests in preparing paella and churros
- Actively involve participants to create a fun, interactive cooking class
- Ensure a safe, enjoyable, and engaging experience for all guests
- Provide excellent, attentive customer service
- Manage class flow and timing professionally
- Represent the company with energy, warmth, and professionalism
- Set up the cooking class and clean up afterward
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent or near-native English (essential)
- Spanish at an intermediate level or higher
- Comfortable cooking and speaking in front of groups of up to 6-10 people
- Sociable, confident, and personable
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to learn and receive feedback
- Must be legally able to work as self-employed (autonomo) in Spain
- Passion for cooking and prior cooking experience is a must
- Knowledge of Spanish cuisine, recipes, or culinary techniques
- Additional languages are a plus, but not required
NICE TO HAVE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)
- Previous experience cooking paella and churros specifically
- Experience working with international guests
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Flexible schedule (classes scheduled in advance)
- 60 EURO per class
