DESCRIPTION:
This role is responsible for ensuring the operational excellence, governance, and cloud infrastructure of the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI platform. Acting as a key subject matter expert, it focuses on reliability, capacity optimisation, security configuration, automation, and infrastructure provisioning.
The position collaborates closely with engineering, architecture, analytics, and cloud teams to deliver a stable, scalable, compliant, and self-service oriented data platform environment. It also plays a critical role in maintaining platform integrity, enabling efficient operations, and ensuring alignment with governance and security standards.
Tasks:
- Administer Microsoft Fabric and Power BI tenants, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Manage capacity planning, workspace governance, and overall platform health.
- Oversee data pipelines, on-premises/cloud gateways, and OneLake operations.
- Implement and maintain Git integration for version control and collaboration.
- Perform proactive monitoring to ensure reliability and early issue detection.
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure, including:
- Subscriptions and resource groups.
- ADLS Gen2 storage.
- Key Vault and Azure Monitor.
- Private Endpoints and Managed VNets.
- Microsoft Purview.
- Enforce security best practices, including RBAC, identity governance, and network security.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using Terraform Cloud.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated deployments.
- Ensure all deployments follow secure, policy-driven standards.
- Collaborate across teams to support a scalable and self-service data ecosystem.
Specific Expertise:
- Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administration.
- Solid background in Azure cloud engineering and infrastructure design.
- Proven expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automation.
- Advanced knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Python for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with AI and Copilot capabilities.
- Understanding of Databricks interoperability within data platforms.
- Strong skills in governance, security configuration, and compliance.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.
- Excellent prioritisation and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Clear and effective communication abilities.
