The Team
A&M’s established European Financial & Operational Restructuring practice advises companies, investors and lender groups in complex restructuring processes to evaluate the risks and opportunities of a company’s business plan, manage short term liquidity pressure, stabilise financial and operational performance, assess restructuring options, be the lead financial advisor through a restructuring transaction and implement comprehensive profitability, working capital improvements and restructuring solutions in order to maximize outcomes for our clients. Working directly with company boards and management teams on behalf of our clients, A&M stabilises crisis situations, drives agreement between stakeholders and creates a stable platform to drive growth.
How you will contribute
As a result of our growth, A&M Spain are recruiting ambitious Analysts/Associates to join our Spain/Madrid team. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a career in advisory with the leading global name in Restructuring and to help and support our clients with the financial implications of the current uncertain geopolitical and macro-economic environment and the inter-related consumer behaviour, risk sentiment and security emergencies resulting from it.
As part of a select and highly skilled team you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects in which you will advise management, shareholders, investors, lenders or other stakeholders facing distressed processes:
- [Financial Restructuring] Support companies, shareholders and/or lenders in refinancing/restructuring processes, analysing the Financial & Operational performance of the Company and its capital structure (including IBRs) and designing, negotiating and executing sustainable solutions
- [Operational Restructuring] Assist C-suite Management in the identification of operational restructuring levers, and the development and implementation of turnaround plans coupled with immediate and short-term cash flow forecasting tools (13 Week Cash Flow), including financial modelling, financial planning and business plan reporting
- [Contingency Planning] Evaluate restructuring options and advise on contingency planning, including quantifying financial implications of insolvency proceedings and key financing terms (in close collaboration with legal advisors) for both the company and other stakeholders such as lenders or shareholders
- [Business Plan Review] In close collaboration with C-suite Management, perform detailed financial analysis of business plans and cash flow projections, the underpinning key drivers of the business and quantify potential risks or opportunities in a short- to medium-term horizon in order to provide a balanced view on the plan which is used as starting point for stakeholder negotiations
Qualifications
- Strong academic background with demonstrable experience within Financial and/or Strategic and Operations Advisory (Restructuring, M&A, Debt Advisory, Financial or Commercial Due Diligence, Valuation, etc.), Private Equity
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses combined with exposure to constructing fully integrated three-statement financial models and analysing financial underperformance
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance
- Ability to build relationships within a team and with clients
- Fluent business level Spanish and English is essential
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
