Your role
The Finance Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording, control, and payment of the hotel's financial obligations, while also overseeing and optimizing operational costs, primarily within the Food & Beverage, Purchasing, and Stores departments.
This position combines financial administration and control with strategic cost analysis, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, safeguarding operating margins, and maintaining accounting transparency.
What you will do:
Purchasing and Accounts Payable Management
Invoice Control: Receive, verify (including tax compliance), and record supplier invoices for both inventory purchases and external services.
Purchase Validation: Match supplier invoices against Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Received Notes (GRNs) within the system.
Cash Management: Prepare weekly payment schedules and payment proposals for approval.
Financial Reconciliations
Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of supplier accounts, creditors, and advance payments.
Bank Reconciliation: Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and credit facilities.
Operational Cost Control and Back Office Support
Variance Analysis: Monitor operational costs on a weekly basis and prepare monthly consumption reports comparing theoretical versus actual costs.
Cost Audits: Review recipes, standard costing sheets, and conduct spot checks on physical inventories.
Inventory Management
Stock Closing: Execute inventory accounting procedures in collaboration with the Chief Accountant.
Waste Control: Identify inventory losses, operational waste, and allocate complimentary consumption ("house account") transactions appropriately.
Optimization: Analyze inventory turnover and recommend improvements to stock management processes.
Reporting and Month-End Support
Key Reports: Prepare the weekly Flash Report and any ad hoc reports requested by the Director of Finance (DOF).
Financial Closings: Provide active support during monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

Requirements:
Previous experience in administrative, accounting, or finance-related roles, preferably within the hospitality industry
Solid knowledge of financial accounting and administrative controls
Experience in document management, financial record keeping, and account reconciliations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and financial variances
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software
Experience using ERP, PMS, and POS systems; familiarity with various hotel management platforms is highly desirable
Knowledge of tax regulations and applicable administrative procedures
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
Fluency in Spanish; English and additional languages will be considered an advantage
Valid work permit for the EU / Spain
