The Intercompany Accountant is responsible for providing intercompany accounting, supporting the completion of the close, and ensuring that the intercompany account balances are accurate and reflect the proper amounts.
The Intercompany accountant is as well in charge of maintaining subledgers updated, by following up on invoices outstanding for not having any unjustified aged balance. Disputes between counterparties need to be monitored based on our Accounting Standards for avoiding any audit issue or Tax risk.
Responsibilities:
Support multiple entities for intercompany accounting
Prepare preliminary and final intercompany reconciliations
Assist in the month end, quarter end and the year-end close process
Posts Intercompany/Interdivisional journal entries on both sides for cross-company enabled locations and to one location if not cross-company enabled
Prepares payments and takes care of intercompany collections
Investigate unreconciled intercompany related activity and disputes between counterparties
Perform data balancing activities
Provide audit support related to Intercompany activity
Continuous improvement initiatives based on KPIs monthly reporting
Participates/Leads Global Intercompany projects
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
Position Requirements:
Graduate in Business Administration
1-3 year experience in Intercompany & Accounting in multinational company.
Drive for Results
Experience in process analysis
Ability to perform under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines.
Problem solving
Planning and organizing
Communication and teamwork
General ledger knowledge (accounts reconciliation, monthly accruals...)
Transactional processes and problem solving.
SOX/Internal Controls knowledge.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite required
Experience in ERP systems
Data Accuracy.
Strong ability to work with minimal supervision
Fluent verbal /written Spanish and English
Other language would be a +
Team player with strong analytical skills, critical thinking and attention to detail
Mobility: Position based in Madrid (San Fernando de Henares) and limited travelling within European Union or USA might be required.
