The Senior Field Service Engineer (Lead Customer Service Engineer) is responsible for ensuring that customer equipment consistently meets specified performance requirements while optimizing total cost of ownership through preventive, predictive, corrective, and upgrade maintenance activities. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with management.
This position reports to the Regional Customer Service Supervisor and is part of the Customer Service team located in Spain – Santander or Bilbao and will be working remotely to cover the assigned territory.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Perform corrective, preventive, installation, qualification, and upgrade interventions in line with service level expectations and quality standards.

Conduct remote diagnostics, coordinate post-diagnostic actions, and ensure accurate recording and closure of work orders within defined timelines.

Plan and execute preventive maintenance, software and hardware updates, and equipment installations on the assigned installed base.

Represent the company professionally at customer sites while maintaining effective communication with support, coordination, sales, application, quality, and compliance teams.

Identify service contract, warranty, replacement, billable service, and digital solution opportunities to support business development.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including DBS events, and act as a technical reference for assigned sites.
The essential requirements of the job include

Minimum ciclo formativo superior +2 (or equivalent) with at least three years of experience in a comparable field service role.

Solid technical knowledge in biology, electronics, software, chemistry, and life sciences.

Proficient English level enabling participation in international communication and training.
The role requires a structured technical background and hands-on field service experience in life sciences or comparable laboratory environments.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel extensively across the assigned territory to perform on-site customer interventions, including overnight stays when required.

Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to handle service tools, spare parts, and equipment required for field interventions in laboratory environments.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience with customer communication, contract coverage verification, and technical claims management.
