About the Role
Join the Mechanical Engineering team to design and develop industrial machinery, especially converting/web handling equipment. The candidate will participate in the full project lifecycle: from concept and design through manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, and technical support.
Responsibilities
-
Mechanical design of industrial machines and modules (assemblies and detailed parts).
-
Maintenance and evolution of existing projects (improvements, modifications, and incident management).
-
Creation and updating of technical documentation: drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), tolerances, specifications, and manuals.
-
Definition of robust mechanical solutions: bearings, shafts, transmissions, guiding systems, fits, materials, and finishes.
-
Coordination with suppliers and workshop: industrialization, machining, assembly, adjustments, and dimensional validation.
-
Support for mechanical assembly and adjustments on site.
-
Close collaboration with automation/electrical/R&D project teams to ensure stable, safe, and maintainable solutions.
Requirements / Knowledge
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or equivalent proven experience in industrial machinery design.
-
3D CAD knowledge: Solid Edge or similar.
-
2D CAD knowledge: AutoCAD or similar.
-
Strong knowledge of tolerances, fits, basic GD&T, drawing interpretation, and manufacturing and assembly criteria.
-
Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, treatments, coatings) and selection of commercial components.
-
Required: good level of English (spoken and written) for technical documentation and communication with suppliers/clients.
-
Valuable: knowledge of machinery compliance (CE, UL, CSA) and safety (risk assessment, safeguards, interlocks).
-
Valuable: experience in converting and/or web handling machinery (unwind/rewind, rollers, alignment, tension control, nips, etc.).
Competencies
-
Proactive profile, focused on problem solving and field diagnostics.
-
Used to working in a team and coordinating with different technical profiles.
-
Dynamic and organized person, with good judgment for documentation and maintaining standards.
