What’s Up! Living English is a growing language academy specialising in teaching English as a foreign language to adults and teenagers.
As we continue to expand across Spain, we are looking for a Head of Studies for Madrid to lead our academic team and help create the dynamic, social and high-quality learning environment our centres are known for.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher ready to take the next step into academic management, or for a current academic leader looking to grow within a fast-paced and people-focused organisation.

What you’ll do

Lead, support and develop a team of teachers, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
- Plan and manage class schedules in line with student demand
- Deliver classes as needed and coordinate cover for teacher absences
- Monitor academic quality through observations, feedback, and ongoing training
- Run regular team meetings and contribute to teacher development and performance reviews
- Work closely with centre management on daily operations and academic planning
- Build strong relationships with students and support a high level of customer satisfaction
- Coordinate teacher schedules, holidays and Saturday rotas
- Support and promote school events and ensure academic team engagement
- Degree (or equivalent experience)
- Teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE TEFL, or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and support teachers at different stages of their careers
- Proven organisational and time-management skills
- Confidence working with digital tools and systems
- High level of English (C2 or equivalent)
- Upper-intermediate level of Spanish (B2 or equivalent)
- Legal right to work in Spain
