Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Shop Technician to support daily operations with a primary focus on carpentry and crate building. This role also includes assisting with shipping and receiving, as well as supporting aircraft disassembly tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build custom wooden crates and packaging for shipping using carpentry tools and techniques
- Perform general shop tasks including cutting, measuring, assembling, and material handling
- Assist with shipping and receiving, including packaging, labeling, and inventory handling
- Support aircraft disassembly operations under supervision
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assist team members with various shop-related duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Basic carpentry experience required (crate building experience a plus)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to read measurements and follow instructions/drawings
- Strong attention to detail and work quality
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed
- Ability to lift up to [insert weight, eg, 50 lbs] and work on your feet
- Forklift experience is a plus (or willingness to be trained)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations
- Exposure to aviation or aircraft maintenance environments
- Familiarity with shop safety practices and procedures
