Head of Cards / Card Operations

Role Overview
A fast-growing fintech is looking for a senior payments leader to take full ownership of its
card business, covering both crypto-linked and fiat card programs.
This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling the entire card function from the
ground up - spanning strategy, operations, partnerships, and product development. You will
work closely with issuers, BIN sponsors, processors, and internal product/compliance teams
to create scalable, commercially successful card solutions.
The role combines card program ownership, operational leadership, and product innovation,
making it ideal for someone who understands the full card ecosystem and thrives in fast-
growth environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and scale the end-to-end card business, including strategy, operations,
reporting, and growth.
- Manage relationships with issuing banks, BIN sponsors, processors, and scheme
partners.
- Oversee the full card lifecycle, including issuance, settlements, top-ups, transactions,
chargebacks, and fraud/disputes.
- Design and optimise card programs, including fees, limits, user flows, and customer
experience.
- Drive new product initiatives such as virtual cards, physical cards, and crypto-linked
card solutions.
Ideal Candidate
- Fluent in English and Russian.
- Strong background in card issuing, payments, or fintech, ideally with exposure to
issuers, BIN sponsors, or processors.
- Deep understanding of Visa/Mastercard programs and card lifecycle management.
- Experience building or scaling card products or card operations from scratch.
- Strong operational and partner management skills, with exposure to crypto card
programs considered a major advantage.
