In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide professional advice and counsel to ABB management across either a broad range of legal and integrity issues, or within one specialist area and oversee or manage legal and integrity matters or processes, as directed. Each day, you will ensure consistency in services and advice, with no supervision. You will also showcase your expertise by taking part or assisting in managing diverse change or efficiency projects within the Legal & Integrity team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders and Legal and Integrity (L&I) team members during the full contract lifecycle, and manages relevant contractual and legal risks.

Provides L&I related advice to business stakeholders, including ABB Management

In collaboration with Division General Counsel/s and other Business Area Motion stakeholders, monitors legal affairs, including but not limited to integrity matters, IP related matters and litigations, and supports resolving relevant issues.

As required, provides support with respect to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) / divestiture transactions.

Provides support to our business with L&I trainings.

Provides support as regards opportunities and challenges within the business and develops appropriate strategies to address them.

As a gatekeeper, identifies risks, external threats, and opportunities to the company, proactively and proposes appropriate strategies and actions.

Contributes to developing a good working relationship with local business and local functions by acting as a trusted business partner, whilst maintaining an independent position.

Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams, coupled with the ability to work well under pressure.

Qualifications for the Role

Spanish law degree (Grado en Derecho); qualification as Abogado is a plus

5 years or more of legal experience in a recognized law firm, multinational company or relevant industry (process industries, renewables, rail)

Understanding of complex cross-border contractual setups for system deliveries

Experience in dealing with the legal requirements applicable to rolling stock (railway) projects

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Fluency in French with a sound understanding of French law is required

Willingness to travel

Sound knowledge of key software tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, CoPilot

Mindset to innovate, take ownership and drive improvement

Citizenship of an EU country is a plus
