About the Company
YOUNG Foundation exists to create real opportunities for young people through the power of sport, entrepreneurship and mentorship.
We believe sport builds more than athletes. It builds discipline, resilience, leadership, confidence and character — the same foundations required to succeed in entrepreneurship and life.
Through strategic partnerships, mentorship programs, sports initiatives and entrepreneurial support, we aim to help ambitious young people grow, unlock potential and create a stronger future for themselves and their communities.
YOUNG Foundation is part of the broader YOUNG ecosystem: an international entrepreneurial network focused on building meaningful companies, communities and initiatives with long-term impact.
We are still in an early but exciting stage. The Foundation already has strong momentum, partnerships in development and access to a valuable international network. We are now looking for someone who can help transform that momentum into visible execution, strong partnerships and sustainable growth.
About the Role
This is not a traditional non-profit management role.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on builder who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys turning ideas into action. Someone who is equally comfortable shaping strategy, building relationships, activating partnerships and making things happen with limited structure.
As Head of Foundation – Sport, Entrepreneurship & Impact, you will help lead the next phase of YOUNG Foundation together with the board and the wider YOUNG ecosystem.
Your mission will be to help build a strong, credible and visible foundation at the intersection of sport, entrepreneurship and youth development — with a strong focus on execution, partnerships, sponsorships and tangible impact.
In the coming phase, the Foundation is focused on:
launching and activating its first flagship partnerships, including women’s sports initiatives in the Netherlands
developing high-impact initiatives already in the pipeline
building sustainable funding through sponsors, donors and partnerships
strengthening brand visibility, positioning and communication
expanding the Foundation’s network and long-term ecosystem
This means the role is not purely strategic or advisory. We are looking for someone who can actively help create traction, open doors, close partnerships and move initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities
Help shape and execute the strategic direction of YOUNG Foundation together with the board
Identify opportunities, priorities and initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s mission
Translate ideas into concrete actions, partnerships and projects
Help build the structure and operational foundation for long-term growth
Build relationships with sponsors, donors, sports organizations, schools, NGOs, brands and entrepreneurial networks
Identify and activate sponsorship opportunities
Help secure funding and strategic collaborations that create sustainable growth for the Foundation
Develop win-win partnerships with companies and ecosystem partners
Launch and coordinate initiatives that combine sport, youth development and entrepreneurship
Help activate mentorship programs and community initiatives
Ensure initiatives move from concept to execution with clear ownership and follow-through
Track progress, momentum and measurable impact
Strengthen the positioning and visibility of YOUNG Foundation
Support events, collaborations, storytelling and communication initiatives
Build meaningful relationships within the entrepreneurial and sports ecosystem
Represent the Foundation externally with energy and professionalism
Work independently with a high level of autonomy and accountability
Bring structure, prioritization and momentum in an early-stage environment
Provide regular updates and strategic input to the board
Help build a scalable foundation for future growth
Requirements
Experience in fundraising
Strong affinity with sport, entrepreneurship and youth development
Entrepreneurial and execution-driven mindset
Strong ownership mentality
Comfortable working in early-stage environments with limited structure
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to create momentum and move initiatives forward independently
Commercial instinct and confidence building partnerships
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Fluent English
Experience in foundations, non-profits, startups, sports organizations or impact-driven ventures
Experience with sponsorships, fundraising or partnership development
Existing network within sports, entrepreneurship or impact ecosystems
Experience building initiatives from zero
Dutch language skills
You may fit this role well if you are: hands-on, proactive, entrepreneurial, resourceful, commercially minded, energized by building, comfortable with ambiguity, execution-focused, independent but collaborative, someone who creates momentum naturally
You likely won’t fit if you prefer highly corporate structures, slow decision-making, purely conceptual work or environments with heavy hierarchy and clear frameworks already in place.
Conditions
Must be based in the Netherlands.
Part-time role (initially approximately 10–20 hours per week)
10hrs semanales €1500/2000 -
24hrs/semana €3500 aprox - early stage of the foundation.
Flexible and hybrid working structure
Fixed monthly compensation aligned with the stage and growth of the Foundation
Compensation to be defined depending on experience, scope and phase of involvement
Opportunity to grow together with the Foundation as partnerships and funding expand
Additional Information
This is an opportunity to help build something meaningful from the ground up.
Not just to manage a foundation — but to actively shape its momentum, partnerships, visibility and long-term impact.
You will work directly with the Foundation board and the wider YOUNG entrepreneurial ecosystem, with real ownership, autonomy and visible impact from day one.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow together with the Foundation and help turn ambition into real opportunities for young people through sport and entrepreneurship.
