THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Technical Analyst in Madrid, Seville, Milan or London.
This role plays a critical role in safeguarding and optimizing the technical performance of WiseEnergy's global solar PV portfolio. This position is responsible for ensuring high levels of asset availability and strong performance ratios across all sites, while proactively identifying and resolving technical issues that may impact operations. Acting as a key technical reference, the role bridges operational performance with strategic objectives.
In close collaboration with O&M contractors and internal stakeholders, the Senior Technical Analyst oversees technical operations, ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and serves as the primary technical interface with clients. Through effective coordination of site activities, reporting, and technical documentation, this role ensures the highest standards of operational excellence across the portfolio.
Beyond day-to-day operations, the role contributes to continuous improvement and long-term business success. By mentoring junior analysts, driving process optimization, and strengthening technical capabilities within the team, the Senior Technical Analyst directly supports WiseEnergy's mission to maximize asset value and deliver reliable, sustainable energy solutions across the global renewable energy market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily supervision and analysis of the PV portfolio technical performance and operations
- Demonstrate capacity to track and solve any plant incident
- Optimize the availability and performance ratio of the portfolio under supervision
- Support the line manager in the daily supervision and analysis of the portfolio technical performance and operations
- Manage the relationships with Operation & Maintenance contractors and Customer Interface on Technical Issues
- Ensure all O&M / other technical service providers achieve, at a minimum, their contractual obligations
- Prepare and delivery periodic reports on technical performance and other operational aspects of the plants, as well as supervise the reporting of junior members of the team
- Ownership of issue resolution and prioritisation of tasks
- Supervise and manage outcomes of the site visits executed by the site managers, as well as post-construction punchlists
- Supervise the control of the technical documentation related to the plants
- Support the other teams in providing regular compliance with the DNOs, insurance companies, Public Entities, etc;
- Constant identification and implementation of process improvements
- Ownership of issue resolution and prioritisation of tasks
- Lead team meetings to identify internal stresses and allocate support where needed to foster collaborative working environment
- Train and support more junior analysts
- Useful to have additional expertise in technical or programming fields
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (in English and Spanish/Portuguese advantageous) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to put together well-written, grammatically correct emails, presentations and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate and engaging.
- Time management & prioritization skills - the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.
- Fast Learner – Our US portfolio spans multiple states (New York, Virginia and North Carolina) with differing PPAs and regulatory requirements in each. Being able to quickly digest, learn and adapt to these differing challenges is key
- Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail, capable of interpreting complex contracts, regulations, and financial data.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to manage contracts, disputes, and external counterparties.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to assess risks, identify opportunities, and optimize asset performance.
- Project management skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and ensuring timely delivery.
- Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters.
- IT literacy - you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data, particularly Excel.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in the solar PV sector, ideally within a developer, asset management company, or engineering consultancy.
- Solid background in managing PV portfolios, performance analysis, and root cause identification of site issues.
- Proven experience handling O&M handovers and claims with manufacturers (modules, inverters, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-level meetings with clients and stakeholders. Experience working in international environments is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (mandatory). Knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or Italian is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience using PVsyst.
- Availability to travel internationally

- Hybrid working – we will need you in the central Madrid/Seville at least twice a week, but you will normally be able to work remotely for the remainder of the week. If the position is in Milan you will have two days of remote working.
