Our client is one of the biggest hedge funds in the world, managing investments for a wide array of institutional clients, including foreign governments and central banks, corporate and public pension funds, university endowments, and charitable foundations. We have a group of around 100 engineers (Devs, QAs, BAs, and Project Managers) distributed between Westport, USA, and Malaga, Spain, working on one big solution.
As a Senior Platform Engineer (Critical Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer), you will be joining a rapidly evolving department to enable rapid financial service business model changes. We have a huge appetite for change, and you will be asked to adapt quickly to take on more responsibility. You will tackle a challenging and varied array of problems in how we gain further maturity in DevOps tools, processes, and engineering capabilities. You will be an engineer first and foremost, looking for excellent solutions that offer leverage for the company, not just "quick fixes".
This position offers a hybrid work setup with flexibility to work from Malaga, with occasional office visits required.
Responsibilities

Architect and deploy robust, scalable, and secure data platforms leveraging cloud technologies

Build cloud-solutions across platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring flexibility and resilience

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain workflows, ensuring best practices are followed

Develop CI/CD pipelines tailored for data platforms, ensuring seamless deployment and testing

Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks for infrastructure health and operational excellence

Optimize compute and storage resources for cost-efficiency without compromising performance

Mentor other team members on best practices for cluster management, job optimization, and resource allocation

Ensure the platform adheres to compliance standards and meets security requirements

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across the infrastructure

Regularly review and improve existing architectures to align with evolving business and technology needs
Requirements

Strong Python coding skills

Demonstrable experience with a leading cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) At the project you will work with AWS, Azure - 50/50

Deep understanding of CI/CD, source control, and managing infrastructure related to these domains

Enterprise-scale software development and release management experience

Demonstrable experience with one or several facets of infrastructure (Networking, Compute, Security, IAM, Configuration Automation, etc.)
