About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as the PBX Operator, you will be responsible for operating the hotel’s switchboard, answering all incoming calls promptly and professionally.
As PBX Operator, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- To answer the telephone in the utmost clarity, offering assistance to internal and external callers.
- To transfer calls accurately to the appropriate departments or guest rooms while ensuring a smooth connection.
- To maintain a thorough knowledge of hotel services, promotions, and policies to assist guests effectively.
- To provide service and information regarding the hotel facilities to guests and outside calls.
- To maintain Privacy of Communication whilst on duty, as per MOHG standards.
- To report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Front Office Manager.
As PBX Operator, we expect from you:
Experience and education
- Previous experience in the same role is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Effective communication skills in English and Spanish (additional languages are a plus).
- Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts (day, afternoon, and night).
- Well-groomed appearance, adhering to the hotel's grooming standards.
- Basic IT skills, with solid knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity of hotel management systems (e.g., HMS, Opera, Fidelio, or similar PMS)
