The HW Verification & Validation Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of airborne electronic hardware developments with the DO-254 assurance process, participating in all verification and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle.
The position requires a strong technical understanding of hardware development processes, verification methodologies and certification requirements for aerospace embedded electronic systems. The engineer will technically review project lifecycle data, validate verification strategies and ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
What will you do?
- Participate in all Verification & Validation (V&V) activities related to airborne electronic hardware developments under DO-254 guidelines.
- Review and assess the technical compliance of the complete hardware development lifecycle, including:
– Planning
– Requirements capture
– Conceptual and detailed design
– Implementation
– Verification
– Validation
– Configuration management
– Process assurance
- Review and validate the scope and coverage of verification activities, ensuring that hardware designs, verification approaches and test campaigns adequately demonstrate compliance with system and hardware requirements.
- Review and validate test cases, procedures and verification methodologies to ensure full requirements coverage, traceability and compliance evidence generation.
- Ensure traceability and consistency between requirements, design, implementation, verification results and validation evidence.
- Review hardware lifecycle documentation, including:
– PHAC
– Hardware Plans
– Requirements documentation
– Design documentation
– Verification procedures and reports
– Compliance evidence
– Traceability matrix
- Define, review and execute verification activities at different levels, including:
– Requirements verification
– Design verification
– Schematic reviews
– HDL reviews
– Test case definition and execution
– Functional testing
– Robustness and edge-case testing
– Integration and hardware validation testing
- Participate in technical reviews to ensure that hardware designs are verifiable, compliant and aligned with certification objectives.
- Participate in verification reviews, audits and certification support activities with customers and certification authorities.
- Coordinate with hardware designers, FPGA engineers, systems engineers and quality assurance teams to ensure DO-254 process compliance.
- Support problem investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to hardware verification activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of V&V methodologies, verification environments and development processes.
What profile are we looking for?
Mandatory:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or similar.
- At least 1 years of experience in hardware development, verification or certification activities for aerospace or safety-critical systems.
- Understanding of:
– Requirements-based verification
– Traceability management
– Configuration management
– Verification coverage analysis
- Familiarity with laboratory testing environments and electronic measurement equipment.
- Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
Valuable:
- Experience working under DO-254 processes and guidelines.
- Knowledge of hardware development processes for:
– Digital electronics
– FPGA-based systems
– Embedded hardware systems
- Experience in hardware verification methodologies, test definition and validation activities.
- Experience participating in hardware verification activities across the full development lifecycle.
- Experience defining or reviewing verification strategies, test cases and compliance approaches.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, verification evidence and requirements traceability.
- Knowledge of aerospace development standards is highly valued:
