At PepsiCo International dCommerce team, we are building the next generation of innovative products and capabilities using emerging technologies to accelerate our business and gain back share. While tied closely to broader PepsiCo, the dCommerce group has a unique start-up feel and defined values that embrace a more entrepreneurial mindset.
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to continue to drive our unique Digital Shelf product – Nova. The capability is bringing together a vast variety Digital Commerce signals between sales, digital shelf analytics, performance marketing and much more to aid our commercial teams in identifying the most impactful actions to win within digital space and delight our consumers.
We have completed year one laying out foundation for what’s to be our bet on the the future of Digital Commerce Intelligence. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Software Engineer to grow an internally incubated product from early stages of development to become a Global corner stone of how we drive Digital Commerce Growth. You’ll build the solution by integrating insights and AI components.
Responsibilities:
Product Delivery & Execution

Own the development from Softwar Engineering of end‑to‑end product capabilities for Nova, from backend integration through to user‑facing experiences.

Partner with the UX/Product and engineering leadership to refine requirements, shape scope, define delivery sequencing with clear trade‑offs, iterate quickly using prototypes, feedback loops, and measurable outcomes

Provide accurate estimates, identify dependencies early, and proactively manage risks to keep delivery predictable.

Balance near‑term feature delivery with longer‑term maintainability by proposing and implementing pragmatic architectural improvements.
Full‑Stack Development (Backend + Frontend)

Design and implement robust backend services, APIs, and integrations with enterprise systems and platform services (identity, events, APIs, data access)..

Build workflow-driven experiences (actions, recommendations, tasks) beyond dashboards.

Build high-quality frontend applications with strong attention to usability, performance, accessibility, and developer experience.

Define and enforce API contracts, data models, and integration patterns to ensure reliable cross‑component collaboration.
Technical Leadership (as a Senior IC)

Serve as a technical anchor for the squad: influence design decisions, align implementation with architecture standards, and mentor others through reviews and pairing.

Raise the technical bar through strong engineering judgement, clear recommendations, and a bias for simple, resilient solutions.

Collaborate closely with Solutions/Data Architects to ensure the product aligns with broader PepsiCo capabilities and integration standards.
Engineering Excellence & Quality

Set a high standard for code quality: clean architecture, maintainable structure, consistent patterns, and strong test coverage.

Establish and improve automated testing strategies.
-
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability (logging/metrics/tracing), and reliable release practices (progressive rollouts, rollback plans).

Proactively identify and reduce technical debt, addressing root causes and preventing recurring issues.

Build for scalability and performance, including profiling, optimisation, and capacity-minded design.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
-
Work effectively across disciplines (data engineering, BI engineering, data science) to deliver integrated solutions end‑to‑end.

Communicate clearly with stakeholders: explain technical constraints, propose options, and support demos and feedback loops.
-
Coordinate with US DTX product/engineering counterparts when beneficial, sharing knowledge and aligning on reusable patterns while respecting independent operating models.

Act as a dependable owner for key components, responding to incidents, driving root‑cause analysis, and improving system reliability.
Continuous Improvement & Mentoring
-
Mentor and coach other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Identify process improvements in ways of working (refinement quality, estimation, release readiness) and help the team adopt them.

Stay current with relevant full‑stack and platform technologies, and bring pragmatic innovation to the product.
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Background collaborating with data engineers, BI engineers, data scientists, and product managers in data‑driven products.
-
Strong software engineering foundation and able to evaluate architecture, review code, and guide technical decisions across frontend and backend
-
Experience with Elixir or comparable functional programming languages (e.g. Scala, Erlang, Clojure), or strong willingness to learn.

Familiarity with modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Azure, AWS, etc)
- Understanding of BI tools and their limitations, as well as exposure to data science and ML integrations within products
- Experience establishing or significantly improving engineering best practices in a growing or maturing environment
- Exposure to data science or ML‑enabled features within products, including consuming models via APIs or production pipelines.

Experience applying and contributing to engineering best practices such as clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and code reviews

Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving scope

Strong prioritization skills balancing long-term scalability with short-term delivery needs
