Leadership & people management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of .NET engineers, including regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
- Drive hiring for the team: define role requirements, interview candidates, and onboard new hires
- Foster a healthy, collaborative, and accountable team culture
- Plan and prioritise team workload balancing delivery, technical debt, and innovation
Technical leadership & architecture
- Own the architectural direction of your team’s services within our microservices-based platform, in alignment with our broader engineering strategy
- Drive technical decision-making around .NET Core, MS SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes on Azure, and the wider stack
- Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence
- Lead architecture and design reviews; actively participate in code reviews to coach the team and raise the bar
- Contribute hands-on to critical or complex parts of the codebase where your involvement adds the most value (expect roughly 30–50% hands-on coding, depending on team needs)
Delivery & cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with Product Management to shape the roadmap and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Collaborate with other Team Leads, Architects, and the CTO on cross-team initiatives and platform-wide concerns
- Represent your team in technical discussions with stakeholders, customers, and partners when needed
- Champion best practices in CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident response
