Smadex is a leading mobile and CTV advertising technology company founded in Barcelona and acquired by Entravision (NYSE: EVC) in 2018. We deliver performance marketing campaigns for apps, games, and brands through our proprietary DSP, powered by advanced machine learning and real-time optimization.
As Smadex scales its use of AI, the challenge is no longer access to tools - it is making sure those tools actually change how the team works. To own that, we are hiring an AI Enablement Lead - a hands-on practitioner who drives AI adoption, designs and runs training programmes, and makes sure every AI investment we make translates into measurable operational change.
This is a foundational enablement role at the intersection of AI adoption, operational change, and team capability development. You will work alongside the AI R&D & Effectiveness Lead - taking what gets built and making sure it sticks. This role has a structured growth path to leading a small team within 12–18 months.
This is a full-time position based in Barcelona.
Key Responsibilities
-
AI Adoption - From Build to Embedded Practice
-
Own the end-to-end journey from AI build to operational practice: taking what the R&D Lead produces and driving it into how the team actually works
-
Maintain the AI adoption roadmap: what gets embedded next, what the team can realistically absorb, and where effort is being wasted
-
Track adoption metrics: where AI is being used well, where uptake is below expectation, and what the blockers are - with a recommendation, not just a status update
-
Own the governance framework: approved tools by workflow type, usage standards, and a lightweight exception process that teams actually use
-
Training and Learning Programmes
-
Design and run structured training sessions and courses that make AI adoption stick - whatever format works for the team, in collaboration with cross functional teams and experts
-
Build learning pathways calibrated to different team profiles: not generic training, but targeted development mapped to specific workflow needs
-
Be the first escalation point when teams are stuck on a use case - unblock fast, do not create new process bottlenecks
-
Coordinate the regional AI Ambassador network: giving existing champions the structure and direction to have more consistent impact
-
ROI Sense-Check and Investment Prioritisation
-
Review the R&D Lead’s ROI analyses against operational reality before they build: is the team ready to absorb this, do the assumptions hold up
-
Maintain the prioritisation view across the adoption roadmap: flag where capacity is becoming a constraint before it becomes a problem
-
Track delivered outcomes against projected ROI; identify patterns in what types of AI investment consistently over- or under-deliver
-
Builder-Level Fluency
-
Maintain enough hands-on capability to review AI solutions, assess workflow designs, and configure lightweight integrations independently when needed
-
Understand security and efficiency standards well enough to hold the R&D Lead and the cross functional teams accountable and spot when corners are being cut
-
Contribute to tool evaluations and capability assessments alongside the R&D Lead
What we are looking for
-
4–7 years of experience in AI adoption, operations, technical programme management, solutions consulting, or a similar hands-on change role
-
A track record of making AI actually land: not designing adoption programmes but changing how a team works day to day, with examples you can speak to
-
Operational design instincts: able to create frameworks and processes that are genuinely used under time pressure, not just documented
-
Technical fluency: enough to follow an agent architecture conversation, review a workflow design, and configure lightweight AI tools independently; not a builder, but not a stranger to the technical side either
-
Cross-functional credibility: able to earn trust with commercial, product, and technical stakeholders and adapt communication accordingly
-
Bonus: Experience designing or leading an enablement function, Centre of Excellence, or similar internal capability structure
-
Bonus: Background in adtech, programmatic, or performance marketing
-
Bonus: Signs of a people management trajectory - informal mentoring, leading project teams, or coordinating across functions
-
We are not looking for someone who has run workshops and written playbooks that nobody read. We want someone who has been in the room when AI adoption stalled, figured out why, and fixed it.
Why this role matters:
Building AI capability and embedding it so it changes how the business performs are two different problems.
Smadex has enthusiasm, tools, and a strong R&D function. What it needs now is the person who ensures that investment compounds - that what gets built gets used, that the team keeps getting better, and that when management asks whether the AI spend is working, the answer is yes, and we can show them the evidence.
If you are energised by the human side of AI adoption, making new capabilities actually stick in a fast-moving team, we’d love to meet you.
