Job Description
Negotiating land leases and purchases, identifying suitable sites, and securing the necessary rights for project development. Conduct detailed assessments of potential sites, considering factors such as land use, environmental impact, access to infrastructure, proximity to grid connections, and local regulations. Work closely with technical teams to evaluate the feasibility of each site for battery projects, wind, solar, and hydrogen. Navigate the regulatory landscape in Spain, ensuring compliance with local land use and environmental regulation.
Responsible for land acquisition and management of third party brokers/agents as needed to support the project development goals, with a focus on utility battery storage, scale wind and solar, and H2 projects.

Leads and negotiates land and site acquisition (lease, purchase and surface rights) agreements

Management of the company's current land portfolio in the renewable energy sector

Develop and maintain a network of local partners for land sourcing, such as real estate brokers or similar

Develops and fosters relationships with landowners as well as key community stakeholders, including government entities, energy regulators, and public authorities in coordination with development team, that enable a collaborative environment for site control negotiations, and ensure the project development

Oversee contract drafting and ensure proper documentation and legal compliance

Works with other internal stakeholders, to screen and evaluate land for its suitability for development of new projects or improving existing ones, Supporting the origination team

Managing and supervising the Real state contract archive
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in law or engineering or Agricultural expert required. Appreciated education in urban planning regulations, Permitting procedures, regulatory frameworks and public policies related to renewable energy development

Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in land acquisition at the renewable energy sector, 5 year’s experience will be optimal

Proven track record in negotiating land acquisition agreements, leases, easements, and other real estate agreements in the renewable energy sector

Must have solid experience with land title issues and experience in legal contracts and negotiations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are key to this role

Experience in institutional relations, stakeholder engagement, and working with local governments or regulatory authorities is highly desirable

Ability to balance the interests of all stakeholders while safeguarding the company's objectives

Proven ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, landowners, government officials, and regulatory bodies

Willingness to travel frequently across Spain

Frequency depending on the degree of development of the projects

Specific software: Google Earth; QGIS, used to manage Online Viewers, high Skills on Office package and online servers (OneDrive), and AI knowledge appreciated
