The Team
A&M’s Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory (CMAA) practice supports clients through complex accounting, reporting, and transaction-related challenges. Our professionals advise private equity sponsors, corporates, and CFO organizations on matters including transaction accounting, carve-outs, IPO readiness, financial reporting transformation, integration and separation projects, and technical accounting advisory.
As part of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG), the Spain CMAA team operates within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, working alongside professionals across transactions, restructuring, operational improvement, and performance transformation. Team members gain exposure to complex domestic and international engagements, direct client interaction, and accelerated career development opportunities.
How you will contribute
As a Senior Associate within the CMAA team, you will take an active role in managing workstreams and delivering client engagements across a broad range of accounting advisory and transaction-related projects. You will work closely with senior leadership while mentoring junior team members and interacting directly with client finance teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading day-to-day execution of transaction accounting and financial reporting engagements
- Advising clients on accounting implications arising from acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs, and financing transactions
- Preparing and reviewing technical accounting analyses and accounting position papers under IFRS and local GAAP
- Supporting IPO readiness and finance transformation projects including reporting process enhancements and control environments
- Managing project timelines, deliverables, and junior team members across multiple engagements
- Coordinating with cross-functional A&M teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients
- Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication and execution excellence
- Contributing to business development initiatives, proposals, and practice growth activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- 4–7 years of relevant experience within a Big 4 accounting advisory practice, transaction services, audit, or consulting environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with transaction accounting, carve-outs, IPO readiness, or finance transformation projects
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to team development
