About the Role
As a Senior QA & Reliability Engineer, you will be at the heart of Swiss Re's cloud transformationjourney — embedding quality and reliability into every layer of our Azure cloud platform. This isnot a siloed QA role. You will think holistically, connecting testing, monitoring, and observabilityas interconnected disciplines that drive real engineering excellence. You will work in a fast-paced,cross-functional environment, partnering with platform, product, and delivery teams to ensure ourcloud solutions are secure, compliant, and built to last.

Define and execute test strategies (integration, performance, reliability testing)

Build and maintain automated test frameworks and CI/CD quality

Ensure end-to-end functional and non-functional validation (NFRs)

Drive test coverage, defect analysis, and root cause resolution

Establish quality metrics and reporting frameworks

Proven experience with Microsoft Azure - including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and related observability and reliability services

Strong background in reliability or quality engineering - with hands-on experience designing and executing testing strategies (integration, performance, chaos/resilience testing) in cloud-native environments

Solid expertise in monitoring and observability - including the design of logging frameworks, metrics pipelines, distributed tracing, and alerting systems at scale

Embed quality and reliability practices into SDLC and DevOps pipelines

Mentor engineers and uplift QA/SRE practices across teams

Partner with product, platform, and delivery teams to align quality with business goals
About the team
The Public Cloud Platform Delivery Team is a unit in the Public Cloud Transformation department. The team focuses on platform operations that manage the overall Azure platform setup, security policies, and service operations. Enable application teams to deliver secure, compliant, and innovative solutions that increase business value. Partner with application delivery teams to innovate, deliver and operate solutions in a fast, secure and compliant way to enable and increase business value.

Provide an efficient engineering experience via platforms and services aligned with Cloud Technology Management steering & guidance.
About You
The following proven technical skills will be required:
-
Deep hands‑on knowledge of Azure
-
Hands-on expertise in designing app workload using Cloud Platform Services (SaaS, and PaaS).

Hands-on expertise with chaos engineering tools (e.g., Azure Chaos Studio, Gremlin, or similar)
-
Hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Bicep and CI/CD Azure DevOps pipeline integration for automated quality and reliability checks
-
Strong grounding in Platform engineering concepts: golden paths, paved road tooling, self‑service automation, and internal developer platforms (IDPs).

Experience in one or more programming languages: PowerShell, Bash or Python.

Experience in Azure landing zone design, platform automation design, DevSecOps tooling, network topology & connectivity, access management & privileged identity design, platform monitoring, security architecture, high availability architecture design.

Experience in DevOps methodology (preferably DevSecOps), both technically and organisationally, including continuous deployment, delivery pipelines and test environments.

Good stakeholder communication. Ability to work with Product Owners, Security Leads, Architects and engineering teams.

At ease working in a transformational and complex environment at a fast-pace and getting things done.

Proficiency in English is required.
For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
