We are looking for a Unified Communications Consultant with deep expertise in Cisco Collaboration platforms and enterprise grade Contact Center technologies.
This role focuses on steering the UC architecture, defining design standards, documenting complex environments, and ensuring technical alignment across global regions and platforms.
The ideal candidate brings a strong architectural mindset:
✔ designs solutions,
✔ validates and governs implementations,
✔ ensures interoperability,
✔ and documents the complete UC ecosystem following enterprise architecture principles.
UC Architecture & Strategy
- Define the end-to-end UC architecture covering CUCM, Unity Connection, CUBE, SIP infrastructure, UCCE, and Webex CC.
- Drive the UC roadmap aligned with business transformation and cloud migration strategies.
- Own the dial plan architecture, intercluster routing, numbering plan normalization, and cross regional governance.
- Lead design decisions for resiliency, HA, clustering, security, and SIP interoperability.
Design & Documentation Ownership
- Produce and maintain HLDs (High-level Designs) and LLDs (Low-level Designs) for UC & Contact Center environments.
- Document SIP call flows, integrations, trunking models, SBC logic, failover behavior, and overall service dependencies.
- Ensure alignment with existing design frameworks (SME/ILS, Webex CC routing logic, SBC universal call flow models).
- Maintain architecture landscapes including CUCM clusters, Unity clusters, voice gateways, SBCs, UCCE components, and Webex CC tenants.
Steering & Governance
- Act as architectural authority for all UC projects, changes, and new deployments.
- Review engineering designs and ensure consistency with standards and blueprint models.
- Collaborate with architects, network teams, security, and vendors to ensure integrated design governance.
- Evaluate new technologies, versions, and upgrade paths (e.g., CUCM, UCCE, Webex CC platform evolution).
SIP, CUBE & Interoperability Leadership
- Define SIP standards, normalization rules, routing logic, and QoS models.
- Architect CUBE deployments (centralized, distributed, or hybrid) and enforce SBC governance patterns.
- Specify security requirements, transport settings, encryption models, and interworking design guidelines.
Contact Center Architecture (UCCE, Webex CC)
- Architect integrations between CUCM, CUBE, UCCE, and Webex CC using standardized SIP SBC frameworks.
- Provide guidance for queueing strategy, routing logic, skill mappings, hours of operations, failovers, and cloud interconnectivity.
Technical Leadership
- Steer engineering teams by providing architectural guidance, design reviews, and implementation oversight.
- Act as the escalation point for complex design related issues.
- Ensure documentation, configuration standards, and architectural decisions are respected across regions.
