Our Project & Development Services (P&DS) team is a critical part of this offering, managing projects from initial concept to final delivery, including new-build construction, complex conversions, renovations, and strategic asset repositioning.
What this job involvesWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive the growth and success of our Hotels P&DS business across Southern Europe. As the Head of the practice, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, building a world-class team, and establishing JLL as the undisputed market leader in hotel Program, Project & Cost management and development advisory in the region.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the business plan for the Hotels P&DS service line in Southern Europe, focusing on revenue growth, profitability, and market share.
Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities. You will cultivate and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with key clients, including hotel investors, developers, private equity funds, and international hotel brands.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of project and development managers across the region. You will foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and client-centric service delivery.
P&L Management: Assume full responsibility for the business line's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing profitability to meet and exceed targets.
Service Delivery Excellence: Oversee the successful execution of all projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will act as the ultimate point of accountability for client satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with other JLL business lines—including Capital Markets, Valuations, and Advisory—to provide integrated, value-driven solutions for our clients.
What we are looking forThe ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in the hotel development sector with a proven track record of growing a business and leading complex projects.
Essential qualifications and attributes:
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in hotel real estate, with a significant focus on project management, development management, or construction.
Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Southern European hotel market, including key players, development regulations, and market dynamics in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
Leadership: Proven experience in a leadership role, with responsibility for P&L management and team development. You are an inspirational leader who can motivate and guide a team spread across multiple geographies.
Client Relationship Skills: An established network of senior contacts and a demonstrated ability to build trust and win business at the C-suite level.
Technical Acumen: Expertise in the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design to procurement and construction close-out. Strong contract negotiation and financial management skills are essential.
Education: A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, PMP) is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is required. Professional proficiency in Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese would be a significant advantage.
