What you will do:
As a BOP Procurement specialist at EDP, you will manage purchases of the following categories; CAPEX services, Engineering service/contracts, civil and electrical works (BOP), Wind & Solar equipment/EPC and other technical services for EDP.
Involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, the candidate will contribute to commercial aspects of development, engineering, quality, HS&E, construction, installation, commissioning, O&M (civil), etc.
Candidate will carry out the purchasing-contracting cycle according to the guidelines of EDP Procurement Department and the EDP Group Purchasing Policy.
Giving support to other areas of the company and with the aim of achieving the most favourable conditions in ensuring the delivery of all products and services required for the different phases of the project, delivering the target savings complying with the required quality and production due dates are delivered. Working to bundling services in different years and geographies in global Frame agreement.
General responsibilities:
- Managing the relation with stakeholders to organize their portfolio of next projects to be build and consequently to be part of the procurement processes of the department.
- Leading the RFPs for the different countries of the Europe platform.
- Market scouting and market intelligence monitoring raw materials, products and services which impacts directly in the procurement processes
- Deliver high level cost savings through negotiation and realization of cost reduction projects.
- Drive appropriate commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the lowest total cost of ownership that meets the business goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with cost & performance benchmarks in use
- Carry out and lead RFI/RFP processes preparing the commercial specifications, communication with stakeholders, negotiations, assessments, and awarding, manage contract negotiations until closure. reporting and obtaining the company approvals.
- Commercial analysis giving support to the technical areas in offer analysis: Receive, tabulate proposals and accomplish the commercial assessment, challenging the technical assessment in order to ensure the proposals homogeneity, supporting the technical department in scope optimization through market inputs, review different alternative propose by the supplier to improve scope and price; ensuring a competitive process and monitoring the preparation of the purchase order following the indication of the Responsible.
- Identify and implement significant cost savings opportunities.
- Identifies procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through risk and change management.
- Performs Supplier Management, in particular Supplier Development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.
- Contract Management: Negotiate contracts to obtain the most favorable conditions and coordinate all this process with the different departments involved (development, legal, risk, engineering, construction…).
- Provide support in the improvement and adaptation of a particular contract (BOP, installation, new services, etc.) according to the standards terms of EDP, project specifications and the condition for the different geographies in EDP. Negotiate this contract with suppliers to ensure all terms and conditions required by EDP are met.
- Monitoring market conditions: To ensure that all terms and conditions are according market current situation (workshops/benchmarking), searching for new suppliers in order to get a wider range of proposals and activate market´s current suppliers especially in new geographies in order to achieve reductions in the price for the different materials and services contracted against historical developed data and received offers.
- Frame Contracts: To Propose new frame contract based on consumption analysis and management previous frame contracts for Engineering, Energy Assessment, Construction, Environment, etc. defining the contract strategy, deadlines and carrying out the monitoring of such contracts (i.e. rappel calculation, etc.) ensuring an effective and fluid communication between the different departments and gathering and distributing the necessary information.
- Strategic Alignment with EDP Policies: To ensure the alignment of the EDP Europe purchasing policy with the strategic guidelines set by EDP and generates the necessary reporting and statistics.
- Cooperation with other Departments: To develop and maintain a formal and fluent communication with business areas, playing a pivotal role and involving as required other EDP areas such as Legal, Business development, Technical Department, etc.
- External Relations: Jointly with the business areas, manage, when necessary, the relation with external clients (as partners) in terms of supply chain and procurement his related responsibility areas: and leverage and to establish relations with external clients (suppliers, etc).

What are we looking for:
1. Academic Skills:
- University Degree and Graduate Degree (includes Master or other graduate level degrees) - degree in Engineering or similar field (industrial, civil, electrical, mechanical, or similar).
2. Professional Experience:
- Experience level: Between 1 and 3 years in technical purchases of civil and electrical works.
- Highly valued knowledge / previous experience of renewable energy projects , investment, Wind and Solar technology related purchasing for BOP-BOS.
3. Specific Knowledge:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc).
- Familiar with contractual negotiation and preparation processes
- General knowledge of Supply Chain concepts
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ability to manage databases will be valued.
4. Languages:
- Fluent Spanish and English Level (Oral and Writing) is mandatory. Other are a plus.
5.Skills:
