Zazzai Store E-Commerce is a growing online retail company focused on delivering exceptional digital shopping experiences. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our e-commerce technology strategy, oversee engineering teams, and drive innovation across our platform.
Position Overview
As the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading the development, optimization, and scalability of our e-commerce technology stack. You will work closely with executive leadership, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure our platform remains reliable, secure, and capable of supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage software engineering teams across multiple projects.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for the company's e-commerce platform.
- Oversee architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications and services.
- Ensure platform performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Executive teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes.
- Mentor engineering managers and senior developers to foster professional growth.
- Manage technical budgets, resource planning, and vendor relationships.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovation and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams in an e-commerce environment.
- Strong knowledge of modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, and software architecture.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with high-traffic e-commerce platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with microservices architecture and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with payment systems, order management, and customer-facing digital products.
