Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, managed investments, portfolios, and markets. The group also collects and maintains high-quality data on the equities, managed investments, and fixed-income investments we cover in our database, one of the largest investment databases in the world. The Role:
As a Specialist on a 1-year fixed-term contract, you will provide support for complex data cases that get escalated to your team. You will work closely with Client Service Support and Data Operations to ensure resolution of these issues. You will be required to research identified issues, ensure timely resolution, and communicate outcomes to all appropriate stakeholders. Timely resolution requires coordinating resources across various data teams. The position is based in our Data & Development Centre EMEA.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate strongly with the global data teams

Continuously evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvement projects.

Act as an expert regarding investment data points and calculations, answering questions and escalations from data team.

Keep up to date on current and new financial regulations (Solvency II, MIFID II, etc.)

Drive process improvement by applying LEAN Six Sigma tools and implementing process automation.

Track, evaluate, and determine resolution approach for complex data issues.

Demonstrate a high sense of ownership of the issues in the data ticket queue to be responsive and provide timely updates, follow-up, expedition, and resolution.

Prioritize issues by severity and impact.

Understand roles, responsibilities, and expertise of internal stakeholders to expedite issue resolution. Stakeholders include all Morningstar employees whose expertise may be relevant to the resolution of a particular data question.
Requirements:

Solid understanding of the financial industry and passionate in investment data.

Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling high volumes of cases and meeting strict deadlines

Fluent English and at least one other European language is mandatory.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Excellent capabilities with Microsoft Excel.

A deep customer service focus and strong attention to detail.

We expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
