An opportunity for a Industrial Assembly Engineer - Future Programmes & Manufacturing Technologies has arisen within Airbus Operations, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the Future Programmes & Manufacturing Technologies Team. Our mission is to transform "from scratch" concepts into industrial reality, operating at the dynamic intersection of innovation and execution. We bridge the gap between R&T and full-scale industrial maturity, ensuring our structural assembly lines are robust, digitalized, and future-ready. The jobholder will reinforce a multifunctional team, taking an active role in architecting the next generation of flight.
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
Collaborate with Engineering and Industrial Architects to integrate high-quality, stable, and cost-effective assembly/inspection solutions into aircraft design.
Evolve technologies from low Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) to full industrial maturity, ensuring they are robust enough for shop floor operations.
Develop and align the Technology Route Map for industrial assembly (tooling, drilling, fastening, and metrology) in coordination with Plants and FALs.
Lead and support Industrial Research and Development projects, acting as the core link between central R&D organizations and plant operations.
Standardize and own technical specifications for structural assembly while providing expert technical inputs to Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs), particularly in Procurement.
Act as the technical focal point for complex industrial challenges, ensuring the dissemination of structural assembly best practices across the Airbus network.

Education: Aeronautical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related discipline.
Experience: Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Structural Assembly, or Industrial R&T environments.
Soft skills: Technical vision, high adaptability to bridge innovation and execution, excellent collaboration in multi-functional environments, and a networking mindset.
Languages: Advanced level in English.
Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of structural assembly processes (tooling, drilling, fastening, metrology) and TRL management.
Valuable / Nice to have: Experience with the digitalization of production lines or industrial research project management.
