About the role
Join BNP Paribas’s Global Markets Strategic Equity Sales team in our vibrant Madrid office. As a Strategic Equity Sales Intern you will get a front‑line view of how equity ideas are packaged and presented to corporate clients, learn the basics of equity‑driven financing solutions, and support a fast‑moving sales desk that works hand‑in‑hand with Traders, Research and Portfolio Management. The placement offers a hands‑on, client‑focused experience that blends market insight with sales‑oriented tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Client profiling – Help the sales team map corporate, institutional and wealth management clients, capture key industry and financing needs, and keep client records up‑to‑date.
- Equity‑derivative awareness – Get familiar with the main equity‑derivative products (equity swaps, forward‑starts, total‑return swaps, options, etc.) and understand how they can be used for common client objectives such as share buybacks, stake‑building or disposal strategies, and bespoke financing structures.
- Equity market snapshot – Monitor headline equity market moves and sector trends, summarising the most relevant points for internal use and client conversations.
- Team liaison – Communicate with Traders, structurers and Research analysts to gather the data and viewpoints needed for client pitches.
- Pitch‑deck support – Assist in preparing concise presentation decks, one‑pagers and market commentaries that showcase equity‑focused solutions.
- Data‑tool basics – Use Excel (and basic VBA) to pull and organise market or client data, making it ready for quick reference.
- Idea sharing – Bring fresh perspectives on how to streamline routine tasks or improve the visual format of client materials.
What we look for
- Genuine interest in equity markets and the sales side of financial services.
- Strong analytical mindset with solid Excel skills; basic exposure to VBA/Python or Power BI is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English (Spanish is a bonus).
- Team‑player attitude, proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple short‑term priorities.
